An awesome shoot em' up that tests the Mega Drive's limits!

Really solid shootem up better than darius

thanks :)

It's a good game, but I think the ships' shooting is very weak and unbalanced, the snow that is slow is really slow, the ship that has the weak shot is too weak and so on, would it be possible to improve this?

If you press the A button, when you have the Burst bar filled, you will exchange the bar for a PowerUp (which can be either Speed or Power). Otherwise, if you break the burst bar using the C button, you will fire a burst of energy

Kind regards.

Really a impressive, hard and well done game.

Thanks!

Observando seu trabalho agora. Já estou seguindo e planejando criar conteúdo para seu jogo.

Awesome game ! Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot

incrivel trabalho ,parabéns

muito obrigado.

An interesting game! I’ve given it a try if you want to see some player experience. There was a weird visual glitch on the second boss. There was an enemy still on screen when the boss showed up so it got stuck and changed colour before disappearing. Also it seems like the pilot with two speed and two power is the best play experience. The woman is too slow so you’ll get hit or the last pilot is too weak and it was taking ages to beat the first boss. Maybe some way to upgrade their stats while you play?

Shylax - Mega Drive Homebrew

Hello, thank you very much for playing.

You are right the proof of concept has a lot of bugs. I only fixed the most important ones so we could play the game.

In order to pass the game with Gina or Keitaro, it is highly recommended to spend the burst bar in PowerUp/SpeedUp, pressing the A button, once the ship is 100% powered up we can spend the burst to break enemy bullets that can kill us or to take more life from the final bosses.

I'm currently making another proof of concept, this time a vertical Shoot'em up. It's about the invasion of Shylax. It will be a 2 player game and it won't be for MegaDrive, but for PC, as I'm making it in Java using the LibGDX library.

I take note of your comment, and for the new proof of concept I'll change the bar name so it won't be confusing.

Best regards

Very good project

thank you very much, best regards

Good Shoot 'em up! But the second boss seemed to me much more difficult than the others. Success in development!

Thank you very much for the comment, it makes me very happy that you liked something, it's the first time I do something like this.

Since my idea is not to make a video game but a proof of concept or an exercise, the safest thing is to finish fixing bugs and that's it.

Best regards.
